Regular readers know that I don’t go in for the whole “civilization is collapsing” line of pessimism. This is 20th Century Lite, not the fall of Rome.
But there are a few exceptions where that level of alarm is merited, as with the ruins of Detroit.
Here is another such example: the rise of “Muslim Patrols” in London: vigilante morality police who are attempting to impose Islamic Sharia law by brute force.
An American student has been attacked by an Asian gang while out drinking beer with friends, in an area of East London where Muslim patrols have previously attempted to enforce sharia law.
Francesco Hounye, 22, who lives in Florida, was beaten savagely by the men who surrounded him, who kicked and punched him before smashing the bottle of beer into his face. Hounye was taken to hospital with deep slash wounds to his head. He has suffered permanent scarring and a chipped tooth.
The attack took place in an area where police say self-appointed “Muslim patrols” have been operating. The men have allegedly targeted gay Londoners, drinkers, and women they consider to be dressed inappropriately.
This is the sort of event that ought to set off very loud alarm bells. What is most alarming is not merely the presence of these barbarians within the gates of one of the great cities of the West. It is the fact that it took an attack on an American tourist for the phenomenon to get much notice. And then there is the fact that the author of the article still feels it is necessary to describe the attackers as “Asians,” the geographically sloppy British euphemism for “Muslims,” and to declare that “The motivation of the attackers is unknown.” This, despite the fact that a participant in an earlier “Muslim Patrol” attack explains it quite succinctly: “Kill the non-believers.”
The explainer, by the way, is Jamaal Uddin, formerly known as Jordan Horner—a white-skinned, red-haired British convert to radical Islam. So much for that “Asian” thing.
It’s an old maxim that great civilizations don’t die by conquest so much as they die from suicide. The “Muslim Patrols”—and the reluctance of mainstream British commenters to acknowledge their existence, for fear that they will be denounced as intolerant—is enough to put Britain on suicide watch.
